The Earth, our Recent Earth
_____________________________

At morns, noons, and nights
our solemn selves comport in fearful quid.
Then our ears are fed with the death of commons and knights
their mild passages, in courtesy of the cruel ′Covid′

If it had been in the scheme of nature’s trowel
that our dear earth, shall in these times,
grope in an experience
so sore, saddening, sordid and severely spiteful,
we, with alarmed hearts
would have reversed that unpleasant scheme
by merely presenting our clean palms.

But man has become his own enemy
and boys, abusers of the earth.
Life is distraught.
Mother earth herself is fed up.
She awaits impatiently
Just one finger-click from her commander,
and her dwellers shall be re identified with dust.
