A virus of fear and reason
unseen avalanche, ghost of death
‘here there everywhere, pushing
away near and dear.

taking refuge in houses, is it safe?
first disinfect, wash hands, then
appear, Oh dear, stay away, away
I may kill you.

loved ones a danger, transformed
lanes streets towns cities emptied
just houses, uniformed, humans all
in lock down, ‘stay safe’ from a fall-

viruses before have killed  scores
wars have killed even more, find
a reason for all these deaths- is
there a sane answer surging in mind?

look back, think back, what did we do
with our planet? pollution deforestation
plastic waste, water loss, killing insane
rape, mass shootings , torture, occupation

Out comes a reaction,  equally on humanity
justified ? reasonable? to end all insanity-
stay inside your habitats, stay clean or else
be stung be ill , breathless and solitary

More harm and less good, more hate, less
understood, Covid 19 has isolated, in
separation is survival, in isolation life-
perhaps it’s time to reconcile, end all strife.
