The fright of the Pandemic

You crept in like a thief in the night,
You gave us such fright,
We felt we could withstand you,
The crowds encouraged you,
The lockdown is what scare you.
With a blanket white you came,
Your invisible power we know not,
All we felt is your wrath,
Falling, like flees. I’m begging,
Please do not sneeze.
I used to say bless you but,
Now I just detest you,
I used to love when droplets
Fall on my head,
Now I know if you touch me, I’m dead.
You took away my freedom,
You left me with boredom.
What’s worst I know some
Will succumb…
The government are promising,
Couples are now discovering,
Do not lean on your understanding,
Please there is need for social distancing.
Washing hands and not touching.
Where are you, oh silver lining?
I feel now is your time for shining.
Shine above the pain so our hearts,
Won’t keep pining
Shine above the gloom and disarray
