{"id":342,"date":"2008-02-03T19:32:29","date_gmt":"2008-02-03T19:32:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mahmag.org\/nucleus-import\/?p=342"},"modified":"2008-02-03T19:32:29","modified_gmt":"2008-02-03T19:32:29","slug":"two-poems-by-bejan-baran","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mahmag.org\/archive-english\/two-poems-by-bejan-baran\/","title":{"rendered":"Two Poems by Bejan Baran"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"rightbox\"><img src='https:\/\/mahmag.org\/nucleus-import\/media\/7\/20080203-world peace icon 2.jpg' width='163' height='163' alt='world peace icon' \/><\/div>\n<p>\n<b>Peace<\/b><br \/>\nby Bejan Baran<\/p>\n<p>1<\/p>\n<p>Peace is the mother of civilization.<\/p>\n<p>It is the eternal light-<\/p>\n<p>under the dove&#8217;s flying wings, carrying an olive branch.<!--more-->In evolving civilization \u2013 it strengthens the 7 gates of life cycle-<\/p>\n<p>from cradle to grave.<\/p>\n<p>With it, the fields flourish, the roads sprawl, and the cities spread.<\/p>\n<p>Peace is an uninterrupted creativity<\/p>\n<p>for developing roads and buildings.<\/p>\n<p>It is the children\u2019s natural growth<\/p>\n<p>with love of life\u2019s sincerity and novelty<\/p>\n<p>on the blessed rug of nature and human ingenuity.<\/p>\n<p>In peace, fire and water were brought home.<\/p>\n<p>Either peace or chaos; no:<\/p>\n<p>Civilization is the preparation for them, too.<\/p>\n<p>In the longevity cycle of peace, civilization flourishes.<\/p>\n<p>\n100 years under the green shadow of peace.<\/p>\n<p>Peace leads to union; with a reduction in armament.<\/p>\n<p>Peace in the region and the world, fairness at home.<\/p>\n<p>With cooperation, children chase butterflies<\/p>\n<p>without stepping on the mine.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe solar system in peace;<\/p>\n<p>human system yearns for peace, too.<\/p>\n<p>Peace for animals and environment<\/p>\n<p>with smile and tolerance &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>horizontal, friendly relations.<\/p>\n<p>2<\/p>\n<p>Peace is the expansion of travel and trade.<\/p>\n<p>Not martyrs; plenty of production heroes,<\/p>\n<p>Not mothers in mourn; plenty of creative women.<\/p>\n<p>Peace is a soaring flock of white doves in the borderless blue sky.<\/p>\n<p>Plan to sow in the good soil in spring<\/p>\n<p>harvest produce, irrigate orchards &#8211; full of fruits in July.<\/p>\n<p>Prune the fruit trees under the clear blue sky<\/p>\n<p>plow the fields &#8211; devoid of mine.<\/p>\n<p>A child on a tricycle in a safe alley<\/p>\n<p>or in a stroller with the mother pushing it on the pavement;<\/p>\n<p>the father in the production line, for survival of the family.<\/p>\n<p>\nPeace tolerates hatred;<\/p>\n<p>The New Moon\u2019s appeal on New Year sweeps hate from hearts<\/p>\n<p>Peace in all circles:<\/p>\n<p>Families, tribes, nations, countries, regions.<\/p>\n<p>In it, no news of bombs and cannons.<\/p>\n<p>Peace is humanity\u2019s hope.<\/p>\n<p>With prayers and chants, gentle believers<\/p>\n<p>come out of hatred with plenty of kindness and companionship<\/p>\n<p>visiting relatives and friends.<\/p>\n<p>Joyous peace for calm thoughts, goodness, generosity<\/p>\n<p>season of helping hand in peace<\/p>\n<p>reaching out to rescue the poor and unfortunate &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>under the gazing of the blessed crescent moon.<\/p>\n<p>3<\/p>\n<p>Peace is by the wall<\/p>\n<p>under the ceiling of sprawl, with a pen and paper on the table.<\/p>\n<p>Wall is not the barrier against imagination.<\/p>\n<p>An obstacle to delay liberty, yes!<\/p>\n<p>Though, an ascending stairway to civil rights, too.<\/p>\n<p>The Saadi\u2019s couplet,* etched on the United Nations entrance:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll human beings are members of one body..\u201d<\/p>\n<p>From the crack in the wall, it can be seen<\/p>\n<p>the threshold of the centennial passage to modernity &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>red flame of the world Olympiad<\/p>\n<p>high banner of citizenry emancipation, beauty, liberty, youth;<\/p>\n<p>above, the flight of white doves of an egalitarian peace on the green Earth<\/p>\n<p>in the absence of borders, lack of walls.<\/p>\n<p>\nPeace is a permanent festivity for all;<\/p>\n<p>conversation and communication.<\/p>\n<p>Peace is the multitude of flags raised in one place.<\/p>\n<p>Passing through the borders without a visa.<\/p>\n<p>Peace is the common language of human beings-<\/p>\n<p>with the universality of laughter and hope facing a bright future<\/p>\n<p>from today\u2019s understanding and well-wishing.<\/p>\n<p><i><br \/>\n*Saadi (d. 1290, Shiraz) quoting the holly books, Human beings originated from Adam.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>\n<b>The Prayer<\/b><\/p>\n<p>\nI\u2019m looking at the brook.<\/p>\n<p>A leaf is falling.<\/p>\n<p>A leaf is carried away.<\/p>\n<p>I hear the growth of another leaf.<\/p>\n<p>\nA leaf in the wind<\/p>\n<p>A cloud in the wind<\/p>\n<p>The Earth in the wind<\/p>\n<p>Wind- the World wind<\/p>\n<p>removes the borders.<\/p>\n<p>And the Earth &#8211;
