\nThere are five thousand of us here
\nin this small part of the city.
\nWe are five thousand.<\/b>
\nI wonder how many we are in all
\nin the cities and in the whole country?
\nHere alone
\nare ten thousand hands which plant seeds
\nand make the factories run.
\nHow much humanity
\nexposed to hunger, cold, panic, pain,
\nmoral pressure, terror and insanity?
\nSix of us were lost
\nas if into starry space.
\nOne dead, another beaten as I could never have believed
\na human being could be beaten.
\nThe other four wanted to end their terror
\none jumping into nothingness,
\nanother beating his head against a wall,
\nbut all with the fixed stare of death.
\nWhat horror the face of fascism creates!
\nThey carry out their plans with knife-like precision.
\nNothing matters to them.
\nTo them, blood equals medals,
\nslaughter is an act of heroism.
\nOh God, is this the world that you created,
\nfor this your seven days of wonder and work? <\/p>\n

\nWithin these four walls only a number exists
\nwhich does not progress,
\nwhich slowly will wish more and more for death.
\nBut suddenly my conscience awakes
\nand I see that this tide has no heartbeat,
\nonly the pulse of machines
\nand the military showing their midwives’ faces
\nfull of sweetness.
\nLet Mexico, Cuba and the world
\ncry out against this atrocity!
\nWe are ten thousand hands
\nwhich can produce nothing.
\nHow many of us in the whole country? <\/p>\n

\nThe blood of our President, our compa\u00f1ero,
\nwill strike with more strength than bombs and machine guns!
\nSo will our fist strike again!
\nHow hard it is to sing
\nwhen I must sing of horror.
\nHorror which I am living,
\nhorror which I am dying.
\nTo see myself among so much
\nand so many moments of infinity
\nin which silence and screams
\nare the end of my song.
\nWhat I see, I have never seen
