Her family lived in Hamburg, Germany, but the outbreak of the World War II forced them to return home. <\/p>\n<p>\n<!--more-->Showing a keen interest in painting at an early age, Darroudi participated in free art classes in Tehran to learn painting. After obtaining her high school diploma, Darroudi left Iran to study at Ecole Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. She also studied history of art at Ecole du Louvre and stained glass at Royal Academy of Brussels, Belgium. Darroudi graduated from R.C.A. Institute of New York in TV direction and production. <br \/>\nDarroudi held her first painting exhibition in Tehran in the spring of 1960. She traveled widely across the world, mounting some 48 individual and 45 group exhibitions in Iran, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Mexico, Australia, Japan, Italy, Germany, US and Canada. <br \/>\nBesides writing books and articles on painting and presenting lectures on painting and the role of women in contemporary Iran, Darroudi produced and directed a 55-minute documentary film titled \u201cVenice Biennial 1968.\u201c <br \/>\nFrom 1967-72, she produced and directed 1,900 minutes of documentary films for Iranian television on artistic appreciation.<br \/>\nShe has been member of International Congress of Art Critics, Artist and Artistic Studies of Rimini, Verrucchio and San Marino, Italy since 1964. <br \/>\nShe penned her autobiography \u2019Distance Between Two Points\u2019 in 1996.<br \/>\nSome of her paintings include, \u201cThe Bold Persian Gulf,\u201c \u201cEternal Marriage,\u201c \u201cCollapse,\u201c and \u201cEverlasting Portrait.\u201c<\/p>\n<div class=\"rightbox\"><img src='https:\/\/mahmag.org\/nucleus-import\/media\/2\/20060719-daroudi1.jpg' width='150' height='110' alt='' \/><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"leftbox\"><img src='https:\/\/mahmag.org\/nucleus-import\/media\/2\/20060719-daroudi2.jpg' width='54' height='60' alt='' \/><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Iran Darroudi Renowned surrealist painter, Iran Darroudi was born in Mashhad on Sept. 2, 1936 to an aristocrat family.
