Mahmag mostly displayed painted art last year, so in an attempt to diversify we bring a sample of Jude Melling’s graphic art.

MeMeMe by Jude Melling

Jude Melling is freelance illustrator from England, UK. The son of Ged Melling, the periodical cartoonist and artist; known as much for his contributions to Private Eye and The Daily Telegraph, as for his struggle with Bi-Polar Depression .

Jude has been drawing since he was four, but upon failing his A-Level art exam in 1989 illustration became little more than a hobby untill March 2004. It was then that a friend asked him to illustrate a powerpoint presentation. The presentation won a lucrative contract and Jude was payed handsomely. This lead to a trickle of other freelance commissions and the birth of his illustration company “chewedmelon…”

Jude went part-time as an illustrator in september 2005, and he lived and worked in his mother’s attic for almost 3 years. He is currently teaching English in San Jose, Costa Rica, while he finishes illustrating a children’s story he has written entitled “Stupid Monkeys – A Cautionary Tale.”
Here are a few of my favorite pieces. For more on Jude visit his site.
